Tammy L. Read

Tammy Read, age 59, of Grand Rapids, Michigan passed away unexpectedly Thursday, December 18, 2025.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Norma Jean OlesIn (Hammond), step father James Oleson, brother, William Eugene Leasure II. Tammy is survived by her son Alex Jean Read of Comstock Park and brother David (Christine) Leasure of Grand Rapids, Michigan, brother Paul McCarty of Wayland, Michigan. She is also survived by her nephews, William Leasure III, Ryan Leasure, and David Leasure Jr., along with her extended family and friends that will miss her.

Tammy loved her animals; she always had a soft heart for any stray or even one from the animal shelter. She loved to draw and to color Indian pictures. Tammy enjoyed playing darts, she played for years in leagues and also at home with family and friends.

Cremated has taken place and a celebration of her life to held from 12pm to 3pm on January 10, 2026 at the Grand Rapids Elks Lodge located at 917 Bridge Street NW Grand Rapids, Michigan 49504.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be in Tammy’s memory to the Kent County Animal Shelter.
