Teresa Whymer

Whymer, Teresa Terry died March 9, 2023 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was born in River Forest, Illinois on July 27, 1928 to Harry and Elizabeth Bellock. She was the youngest of ten children. She died suddenly of complications from dementia at the age of 94. Terry is preceded in death by her husband of sixty- six years Robert, sons Edward and James and daughter Nancy Maynard. Surviving is daughter Michele (Shelly) Seif and Bill from Sodden Daisy TN and his wife Pattie. Daughter in-law Patty of Port Huron and son in-law Brian Maynard of Detroit. Terry had eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Terry and Bob loved to travel, by visiting all fifty states along with many countries around the world. Her love of sports, came with watching her sons play and her grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and was known for her homemade bread, pies and cookies. Terry's passion was knitting, sewing, her flower garden, camping and golfing. She also volunteered at St. Mary's Hospital for forty years. A visitation will be held on Thursday March 16, 2023 from 3pm to 6pm at Memorial Alternatives located at 2432 Fuller Ave. NE Grand Rapids, Michigan 49505. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday March 18, 2023 at 11am at St. Jude Catholic Church located at 1120 4 Mile Rd NE, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49525 with visitation one hour prior to mass. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Terry's memory to Interim Hospice.
