Thomas A. Highland, age 87 of Bellevue, Michigan passed away on November 13, 2020. He was born to the late Webster and Hazel Highland on August 21, 1933 in Hart, Michigan and graduated from Hart High School in 1951. Tom was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was retired from Grand Trunk Railroad. Tom loved his solitude living in the woods. He was an avid reader of western paperbacks and loved jigsaw puzzles, hunting, and watching sports on television. He is survived by three children, Pam (Frankie) Highland, Kathi Playter, and Thomas R. Highland. He has four granddaughters Kim, Mindy, Amy, and Carrie. He also has nine great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Tom is also survived by two sisters, Terry (Harold) Clark and Mary Scoppettone as well as a very large extended family. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis in 1988 and his wife Susan in 2015. Per Tom’s wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no funeral or service. His ashes will be interred in Hart Cemetery. Tom went out on his own terms and his wishes were honored. Thank you to all of Tom’s friends in the Bellevue area for their support.
