Tracy Alvin Raak (56) of Grand Rapids, Michigan, left this world unexpectedly on November 8, 2025 from natural causes.
Tracy was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on September 3, 1969, to parents James Alvin Raak and Barbara Kay Raak and lived in the area his entire life. He attended Ottawa Hills High School and worked in several fields, especially loving his work with Michigan Bell/AT&T.
Those who knew Tracy knew that he had a heart of gold. He loved deeply and was never afraid to share his love outwardly. He was known for his outrageous sense of humor and always had a comment or two that would make people laugh in any situation. Tracy was also very smart. He was one of those people who knew lots of interesting facts about nearly any subject. But he mostly was an amazing Dad to his three beautiful daughters, Olivia Maslin, Cecelia Nicholls and Sylvia Maslin, and a fun-loving Pop-Pop to his grandson, Greyson. His love of family was fully known in his involvement with his many nieces and nephews throughout their lives.
Tracy was pre-deceased by grandmother Hildegard Fairbanks, father, James Alvin Raak, mother, Barbara Kay Raak, the mother of his children, Sonisa Renee Maslin, and great-niece Veronica Joseph, all from the Greater Grand Rapids area.
He will be forever loved and missed by daughters Olivia Maslin, Cecelia Nicholls and Sylvia Maslin, grandson Greyson Nicholls-Hansen, sister Kerry Raak, brother John Raak (Jodie), (all of Grand Rapids), and many, many nieces and nephews. He touched many others in his short life who will continue to hold a place in their hearts for him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Grand Valley Artists, 2661 29th Street SE, Suite B Grand Rapids, Michigan 49512 (directly behind Schuler Books) on December 14, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Memorial contributions can be made to the family to help cover the final costs of his passing.
May everyone who knew him know that he now rests in peace and his love will remain in our hearts.
