Obituary
William James McCabe “Jim” age 86 of Grand Rapids, Michigan passed away peacefully on May 20, 2023.
Jim leaves behind his loving wife of twenty-three years Jamie McCabe, and their three children Mark McCabe, Kimberly (Lynn) Prater, and Austin Forrest (Jacqueline) Waggoner. Jim also leaves behind his seven grandchildren, his brother Don (Linda) Dressel, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Jim was witty and enthusiastic. He was a dedicated golfer, getting out on the course as much as he could and was an avid reader soaking up as many books as possible. Jim was an Irish history enthusiast and was a master of Irish jokes. He was also a cigar aficionado and a die-hard Ohio State fan, and even played basketball for four years at Youngstown State University. Jim had many joys in life but he loved spending time with his family the most. Jim will truly be missed by those who were close to him.
Per Jim’s wishes, cremation and a private family service has taken place.
