Wilma M. Schutte

Wilma Maxine Schutte, age 90 of Jenison, Michigan, went home to her Lord and Savior on August 3, 2025.   She is preceded in death by her parents John and Bertha Vriezema, daughter Elizabeth DeHart, and daughter in-law Lori Schutte; as well as her four siblings Martha (John) Watkins, Henrietta (Bill) Wilberham, John Vriezema, and Robert Vriezema.  

 Wilma leaves behind her three children Kenneth Schutte, Barb (Dave) Reminga, and Bryan Schutte. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren Kyle (Melissa) Schutte, Kayla Reminga, Austin (Jackie) Reminga, Kevin Reminga, Parker Reminga, Chyane Schutte, Bryan Schutte, Phia DeHart, and Aspen DeHart, along with three great grandchildren.   

Wilma was a devout Christian and dedicated homemaker who held many different jobs in her lifetime but retired from Zondervan Publishing. Over the years Wilma enjoyed a variety of arts and crafts, but truly loved knitting, crocheting, and quilting. Wilma made numerous pot holders, afghans, and quilts for her family. In addition, she was an exceptional baker, taking the time to make delicious treats to share with friends and family. Wilma loved her family. Making a point to keep up with her grandchildren, she attended numerous extracurriculars they were involved in; including sporting events, choir concerts, band concerts, and many others.  Wilma had a witty sense of humor and will be missed by those who knew and loved her.   

The family of Wilma Schutte would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Sunset Manor for their time, care, and compassion to Wilma over the time she resided there.  

 Wilma wished to be cremated, and will be laid to rest at Grandville Cemetery. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
